Troy Polamalu wins Defensive Player of the Year Award

Kirby Lee/NFL
The dynamic and humble Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu wins the Defensive Player of the Year Award over Clay Matthews. Albeit anyone can easily make the argument that James Harrison is the heart and soul of the defense, Polamalu is the linchpin that makes the game easier for the Steelers' front seven. Furthermore, the injury last season (Madden curse) was a big reason why the Steelers were unable to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. Polamalu earned 17 total votes. This Sunday, Troy will attempt to win his third Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers.
